Knitting: Cowl
*PLEASE NOTE: There is an uncorrected error in the PDF. Please cast on 32 stitches (not 33, as written)! I haven’t been able to update the PDF yet, but will do so soon. Thanks for your patience.
Knitting: Legwarmers
The Cross Stitch Legwarmers are knit in the round, on double-pointed needles, with a unique (but simple) broken rib. They fit well, stretch nicely, and are delicately embellished by a column of neat cross stitches. Though I used pink, there’s no reason at all that these couldn’t be adapted for boys, embroidery and all. I hope you enjoy the patt...
Knitting: Cowl
Soft and squishy, sweet and warm: this is a cowl for wintertime. You don’t need much know-how to knit this, and the buttons make this cowl infinitely more interesting than a plain, old scarf (they make everything more interesting, after all).
Knitting: Headband
This headband is a simple - very simple - affair, and it joins the nubbly texture of knitted, seed stitch fabric with smooth, elegant black satin. It’s fun to wear, embarrassingly easy to make, and makes for a fantastic gift! Oh, and it’s a great way to use up extra yarn.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
Some days are swashbuckling days. It just can’t be helped. So, for the days when your little one wants to march up and down the yard, brandishing a stick (or, if you’re lucky, a foam sword), I designed the Swashbuckling Gloves: they’re stripey and warm, bright and bold. (And really fun to knit.) Enjoy!
Crochet: Accessories - Other
It’s bold of me to write a crochet pattern, I know, since I’m a rookie in this crochet game. But nothing more complex than a single crochet happens here, and the end result is a versatile piece of finery, both elegant and fun (with pearl buttons, no less), so I couldn’t keep the pattern to myself.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
You love your fingerless gloves, don’t you? Well, odds are good that your little one would love a pair, too!
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
When I came across a handful of blue suede buttons for sale at my favorite used bookstore, I knew that I couldn’t pass them up. I built the design for these gloves around those buttons, featuring them at the end of a seed stitch strap and against contrasting yarn.
Knitting: Baby Blanket
Buying natural fiber yarn for a baby blanket can get pricey, so I wrote this pattern with the goal of using up some odds and ends from my stash. As long as you use yarns that are within the same neighborhood of each other, gauge-wise, you’ll find this pattern well-suited for most worsted weight yarn, and you’ll love the feeling of finally putti...
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
Like so many knitting patterns, this one began with a holiday, two half-skeins of yarn and a best friend in need of a gift.
Knitting: Coffee / Tea Pot
Knit in a single, flat panel, this cozy is beyond easy - don’t let the buttonholes fool you. (Seriously. If you’ve never done them before, this is a perfect low-stress, low-commitment way to learn.)
