Knitting: Mittens
Ah tulips, harbingers of spring! Here, the Winter Tulips mittens look forward to these blooms while exploring gradients in colorwork knitting. Tones range from white to deepest plum, passing through deepening shades of pink and dusky rose. Color charts for the cuff, right and left mittens, and thumb are provided in the pattern.

Triolet (pronounced tree-oh-leh’) is a French musical term for a rhythmic grouping of 3 notes within simple time. While considered an “irregular” grouping in simple time, this rhythmic pattern creates a lovely lilting effect.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
The Gulliver Beanie is a quick-to-knit close-fitting hat in worsted weight yarn. It features a repeating Triple Gull cable pattern. A twisted stitch ridge runs from the cast-on edge to the crown, and is incorporated into the ribbing pattern for a smooth transition to the body of the hat.

This isn’t just graph paper. It is a detailed template, adapted from a variety of mitten patterns. I wanted to design my own mittens and couldn’t find any blank patterns, so I made up my own. Hopefully it will be useful to others as well. Adapt at will!
