These quite elegant mittens are knitted up in 2 sample versions, one in a worsted weight yarn, one in Nutiden unspun yarn held together with Holst Tides. One with a single and one with a double layered cuff, instructions for both are included in the pattern.
Choose a well rounded worsted weight yarn, with a good stitch definition that will show the texture of the pattern. Or any yarn or yarn combinations that will match the gauge. 3 colors, soft contrasts recommended, lighter shades will show the pattern better.
For Malabrigo Rios you will need about 50 grams of color 1 and 2, and just a couple of grams of color 3 for the cuff. For Nutiden and Tides it is hard to tell the exact numbers since Nutiden differs a lot, but the total weight of a pair with double layered cuff in size S/M is 70 grams.
