Mangere Bridge Beanie
The Mangere Bridge Beanie was a wee surprise offered to members of the ‘A Southern Summer’ pattern club.
The pattern is based upon the Half Moon Bay Sunhat, but with many more options!
The pattern is written to fit newborn to adult, in 5 different yarn weights (fingering, dk, light worsted, heavy worsted or aran, and bulky!), and with 2 different lace panel options.
This hat co-ordinates nicely with the Wahine, Hine, free HINE is a girl, Cornwall Park Shrug, All Seasons Cardy, and the free Autumn Cardigan patterns. Perfect for matching sets!
The lace panel in this beanie comes in both charted and written format, and is wonderfully simple for beginner lace knitters.
The hat is constructed top down, but is done in such a way that you could use a 30 or 40cm circular needle with ease, without having to work tricky magic looping, or alternative form of small diameter circular knitting. Instructions included for experts who don’t mind the tricky techniques ;)
