2018:
My daughter Libby who is bitsandbobs79 and I have pooled all of our yarn that we no longer wish to use and we are both ashamed at how much we have between us. We have 4 very large storage bags full.

We have decided that we like working with Stylecraft Special Double Knit and don’t like the feel of other budget d.k.yarn now, so we decided that we would gather all of the unloved yarn up and spend 2018 using it up to make blankets for charity, or to give away to friends and family who want them.

We emptied all of the yarn out onto the lounge floor and went on pinterest. We chose colour combinations that we wouldn’t normally go for and I then printed off a photo of each blanket and Libby matched our colours to the photo’s and popped the yarn in one of my many Wool Warehouse Organza bags.

We managed to get 10 blanket bags made up and put the rest of the yarn into storage boxes for easy access.

Libby has started her colourful blanket and I started with a more muted colourway.

I will list all of the blankets that we manage to make on this page.

So now when I get “crochet-block” when I can’t decide what to make next, I will always have a blanket to make. Win-win.

2019

As I still have rather a lot of yarn left, I am going to continue my quest through 2019, or until it is all gone.

2020

As I a making the blankets on my own now (Libby has a full time job now, so not much time for crochet), I am still working my way through the bags of yarn.

Hopefully I will finish it all up in 2020.

So what started as a year long quest has now stretched out to the third year

2021 I can’t believe I still have 3 boxes of this yarn left. I’m sure it has babies:)
Yet again, I’m hopeful of using the remainder yarn up by the end of this year for sure. Wish me luck.
