This is the result of several attempts to create a sock pattern that has parts that are knitted in different directions. I like the various sideway patterns that are around, but they tend not to fit too well, as the fabric is less stretchy across, and I needed some sort of allowance for my high instep as well.

Considering what a struggle the initial conception was, and looking at the monster I created, I think it’s only fitting that this sock was heavily inspired by Mary Shelley’s book “Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus”.
