A “Soubrette” is a vocal and character “type” in musical theater and light opera. The Soubrette’s voice is high and light yet powerful enough to be heard over an orchestra without amplification; her character is usually in a supporting role, often adding a bit of comedy and sass to the plot. A complimentary role that packs a lot of punch.

Valine is an essential amino acid needed in the diet in order for the body to build proteins. The Valine Pullover is designed to serve as essential to the wardrobe with its clean lines, set-in ¾ sleeves, and a not-too-deep V-neck. Peaceful Easy Feeling is a seamless pullover worked from the top-down with raglan sleeves. The neckline trim, cuffs, and hem are worked in a contrasting color while bodice shaping is accomplished along princess “seams” to allow for flexibility in modifying the fit. An Estonian Braid separates the lace trim from the stockinette bodice.
Knitting: Cowl
A great project for giving stranded knitting a try (no worries about fit!), the Godric Cowl requires approximately 410 yards of a main color (MC) and 100 yards each of three contrasting colorways (CC). Use a full skein of the main color, and any partial skeins of yarn you may have hanging around for the contrasting colors.

The Posy Cowl is a fun project that makes use of a modified Japanese stitch pattern that involves wrapping several stitches with the yarn before knitting them. Worked in the round, the series of wraps creates a pattern that looks like small flowers (posies) on a lattice with an almost woven effect.
