Buena Park’s plush, hemmed brim provides double-layered warmth over the ears. The hat is worked in the round from the bottom up beginning with a provisional cast-on. The Twist Rib pattern in the brim transitions and continues into a Twist Honeycomb pattern on the crown.

Flagstones is a textured cowl worked in the round. The pattern builds from a rib check border, adding occasional rows of purled double decreases and yarn overs for added dimension.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Entrapped is a hybrid crescent, half-circle shawl shaped to hug the shoulders and back. The mohair and silk blend create a translucent background which is accented with a plied silk and wool blend in a contrast color. Elongated stitches are slipped to create the delicate mesh fabric.

The Bellejouanne Beanie is a stockinette cap that features a panel of alternating cables. The cap is worked in the round from the bottom up. The beanie coordinates with the cowl and mitts in the Bellejouanne Ensemble.

Cookie’s Cowl alternates reverse stockinette stitch with a slipped stitch column and a narrow eyelet column.  The combination of textures shows well when worked with a yarn that has good stitch definition. The model was made with one skein of Berroco Flicker, a chainette yarn.

Nathalie’s Scarflet is worked from tip-to-tip beginning with a small provisional cast-on and an i-cord cast-on. The textured scarflet is framed with a stockinette stitch edge which rolls to mimic an i-cord edge. It is finished with an i-cord bind-off and 3-stitch graft.

Alternating waxing and waning crescents create textured, meandering columns. The stitch pattern’s depth and motion highlight the beauty of semi-solid and tonal yarns.

The In the Fast Lane Cowl is worked one color at a time. Slipped stitches are used to create woven garter stitch stripes on a stockinette stitch background.   The solid background can be paired with a single or multiple contrast colors.  Each stripe uses under 8 yards, making it a perfect project for leftover odds and ends.

The Third Rail Cowl is made up of bands of textured stitches worked in-the-round. These stitch patterns play well with semi-solid or tonal yarns. Two needle sizes are used to maintain a consistent stitch gauge among the alternating stripes. The reverse side of the cowl is an attractive combination of horizontal and vertical ridges.

Shifting columns of slipped stitches break up pooling when worked in variegated or tonal yarn and add visual interest to socks worked in solid yarn.  Goodin Socks are worked from the cuff down beginning with a slipped stitch rib cuff and include an eye of partridge heel.

Worked in the round, the Crocheted Goodin Cowl features a shifting spike stitch pattern bordered with a textured rib. Stripes of solid or color-changing yarns add to the visual motion of the pattern.This is the crocheted version of the knitted Slipped Stitch Goodin Cowl.
