Welcome to Inge’s Knitting Lab!

I’m Inge, a Danish knitwear designer with a background in engineering and science. My designs explore the meeting point between knitting, construction and fit – with a particular interest in how knitted fabric can be shaped to different bodies and proportions.

My patterns range from more traditional sizing to modular and made-to-measure approaches, with room for knitters to make informed choices about fit, shaping and construction along the way.

The Lab is also where I share what happens behind the finished design: construction methods, fit engineering, knitting techniques, yarn and fabric behaviour – and, when useful, a little maths and physics.

Knowledge sharing is an important part of Inge’s Knitting Lab. I like explaining not only how I do something, but also why – so you can take that understanding with you into your own knitting.

Because knitting becomes even more interesting when we understand what is happening on the needles.
