If you know how to make cables, you should find this a relaxing knit.

I wanted to make this as easy as possible to knit - once you have the trick it’s much easier than it looks - you only use one colour per row and you only knit or slip stitches (no purling at all).

A simple bias strip - to roll or not, depending on what works best with your yarn (photos #3 and #4 show the same cowl rolled and blocked flat).

If you’ve never knitted on the bias or made cables - here’s an easy way to try.

Note - this is designed to be worn as a scarf, fitting in neatly at the neck. The shape does not work well as a shawl. I know some people prefer shawls so I’m working on a separate shawl version - if you prefer a shawl, you might like to wait for that pattern - I hope to have it available in January 2013.
