eBook : 8 patterns

My love affair with lace began early in my knitting career. I was gleefully buying lace yarn left and right and that meant I had to find ways to use that yarn. As my confidence grew, I started to design my own lace patterns. I hope you will find the mix to be just as entertaining as I do. The lace patterns included in this e-book range from small projects in heavier yarn like mitts to gloriously huge laceweight shawls. There are 8 patterns included in this e-book for your kniting pleasure. I’ve priced it for $18 which is $9 less than if you bought each pattern individually!

eBook : 17 patterns

Explore lace with 17 patterns that range from simple cowls to expressive and elegant shawls. With stitches inspired by Estonian, Shetland, and modern lace traditions, in a range of shapes including crescents, triangles, and rectangles; these patterns will inspire you to knit something fun and lacy.

eBook : 14 patterns

Mitts have been one of my favorite things to knit throughout the years. They are quick, warm, still allow me the use of my fingers, and use very little yarn. They make great gifts, stash busting projects, and pallettes for learning.

eBook : 3 patterns

I decided that it might be nice to put together a little “set” of my Twisted Love patterns. I priced it so that you get 3 patterns for the price of 2! It’s my little gift to you in case you like the patterns as much as I do. :)

eBook : 13 patterns

Cables have been one of my favorite things to knit throughout the years. When I learned how to cable without a cable needle, it really opened up my appreciation for all things cabled. I have explored easy cables, hard cables, twisted stitch cables, and start and stop cables. They are lovely as an accent or an allover pattern. I just can’t get enough of those lovely cables!

This year our MKAL is designed by Kelli Slack. It’s a different concept where you collect clues at each shop you visit and make either a cowl or scarf, as long as you want it, and with as many or few repeats of the stitch patterns as you want too. You can use mini skeins, full skeins, leftovers, or any combination of fingering weight yarns. Alida is a whimsical pattern. The side motifs are a twisted stitch pattern based on a stitch pattern in Twisted-Stitch Knitting by Maria Erlbacher that I fell in love with. The center cable is a basic open cable. The wending cables remind me of a narrow track up a hill. I can imagine the goat kids leaping across the meadow while a young girl wa...

Knitting: Cape
I just love looking at old knitting patterns, pamphlets, books, magazines, or any crafting items I can put my hands on. Part of my time is spent scouring antique stores and flea markets for knitted items and crafting things to “rescue.” The inspiration for this capelet came from just such a find.

I have been coveting the yarn I used for these mitts for months. I finally bought a ball and had so much fun finding just the right stitch pattern to show off the halo. It had to have just enough pop to not be obscured, and yet have texture and zing. In deference to the name of the stitch pattern, I decided to call these the Blackout Mitts.

My goal with this little bit of lace was to use one skein of yarn, making this a very affordable knit. The twining cable in this cowl adds just a bit of visual interest to an otherwise easy knit. The Temira Socks are a bit of fun and sass. The pattern of open lacework mimcs a cable. Carried down the top of the foot, the pattern is delicate enough for dress socks, but rogue enough for every day. This pattern lends itself well to lightly variegated yarns, semi-solids, and solids. Boldly variegated yarns may not work as well with the lace...

There is something about chocolate that speaks to a sensuality in nature. It can be molded and blended and pulled into an array of sensory delights. Much like yarn, chocolate can yield shapes that are both pleasing to the eye and useful in design.

If you’ve never visited Oregon, and central Oregon in particular, then you may not be aware of the three small mountains near Bend known as the Three Sisters. I’ve had occasion to visit this lovely area many times and I’m always captured by the mountains there. This cowl is meant to remind me of that area with the delicate edging that reminds m...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This shawl was knit for Tina. She requested a crescent shaped shawl with the Ocean Wave Edging and I decided to have a little fun with the construction. Knit from side to side, this shawl uses a delayed increase structure to avoid short rows. and then holds steady in the middle of the shawl.

A good basic sock is almost always on my needles. I love ribbing or stockinette for that basic sock. It’s easy, it’s comforting, and you just can’t beat a comforting, comfortable sock.

Oregon has a lot of waterfalls. When I was contemplating this pattern, I wanted something that reflected the cascades of a large waterfall. With slipped stitches and a little bit of colorplay, this shawl pattern fairly flew off my needles. Worked as a 3/4 octagonal shawl (6 panels), the extra panels help the shawl sit on your shoulders. This sh...

Upon finishing the Twisted Love Mitts and Twisted Love Socks, my test knitter said “You should make a cowl!” I took her comment one step further with this cowl/scarf. The joined button band makes this cowl easy to wear as either a scarf or cowl. You can knit it to the length you like best. You could even wear it partially buttoned for

The Twisted Love mitts are my homage to traditional twisted stitches. I loved the idea of presenting hearts in twisted stitches. These mitts are a match for my Twisted Love socks.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
The Twisted Love socks are my homage to traditional twisted stitches. Most twisted stitch stockings have 5 to 7 different stitch patterns that comprise the full patterning, and this sock follows that tradition with 5 different stitch patterns. As it can be hairy to follow multiple charts, I have presented the charts in two different formats to ...

For Velma I wanted something extra special. I love Velma’s colors which make me think of fall and my favorite time of year. I also love her intelligence. Need an answer? Ask Velma. If she doesn’t know, she finds the answer. I always loved that. So, I wanted a special knit for Velma. This flowing, addictive, fun shrug was perfect. I hope you’ll ...

In the Water Sprite, a boy and girl fall into a well and are captured by a fairy. The fairy takes them home to work for her and when they become tired of working for the fairy, the boy and girl devise a plan to escape. They run away and throw a brush, a comb, and a looking glass behind them that grow to huge proportions to stop the fairy from f...

A thin cotton cardigan is something that should be in every wardrobe. From summer nights and hot days to southern US winters, there can be no more versatile lightweight sweater. This is sure to become a “go-to” favorite in your wardrobe.

I didn’t grow up with Wonder Woman from the TV series, but she did feature in some of the team super hero cartoons I would watch. When Wonder Woman was remade as a movie with Gal Gadot, I was really excited to see it. The movie did not disappoint and this small shawl is inspired by the armor and costumes in the movie. Using a bottom-up construc...

This scarf is a long, squishy, textured hug. It was the inspiration of my friend, Yuh-Chi and is named for her. She saw a scarf that she really liked and, not being a knitter, begged a knitter (that’s me) to make one for her.
Knitting: Cowl
This cowl is simple, but full of texture. It was created from my desire to use a half skein of lovely Stonehedge that was sitting in my stash looking lonely. How many times have you knit a sweater, scarf, or hat and still had a substantial amount of yarn leftover? This cowl is perfect for using up the 125-150 yards leftover balls in your stash;...

This PDF has a pattern for several different mitts in various weights. Fingering weight ribbed mitts, worsted weight ribbed mitts, and fingering weight cabled mitts. There is also a section at the end to help you determine how to fit mitts to your hand, including blanks to write in your numbers. :)

There is nothing more soothing than the rhythm of an easy to work scarf. I was looking for something fun, easy, and interesting, with a lot texture. A little perusing of the Sequence Knitting book inspired me to try a knit and purl combination. A little garter stitch edging on the four sides gave me just enough pop and not too much thought! The...

This short buttoned scarf is named for the town of Carlton in Oregon. Like Carlton’s main street this scarf is short, but also pretty. The cables remind me of the delicious French macaroons at the little bakery there, while the color is reminiscent of grapes and the many little wine shops in Carlton. When I look at this scarf, I can’t help but t...

These little hats are specially designed just for the Click for Babies (Purple Hat) Campaign. These little beauties are cute and quick to work. A touch of patterning keeps the hats interesting, while a worsted yarn means they work up extra quick.

This cowl is simple, but full of texture. It is the sister cowl to my Alternating HexiCowl. I couldn’t decide which one I liked better, so I made both! While I knit mine with a full ball of Rowan Pure Wool Worsted, you could also go stash diving. This cowl is perfect for using up the 125-150 yards leftover balls in your stash; and it looks styl...

Seriously. I cast on this shawl and designed the first few rows because I just wanted to knit! I had this pretty ball of Wunderkleckse and some needles and I just needed an easy, but interesting knit. I hope you’ll find this little shawl both easy and interesting too. I think the highly variegated Wunderkleckse (and any similarly variegated yar...

This is a great pattern for using up little bits of yarn. Though it is sized for sock yarn, any weight from lace to bulky may be used; simply choose a needle size at least 3 sizes larger than the recommended size for your yarn. Your ribbons may use as little as 10 yards or as much as you like. I suggest 20 yards as a minimum for most of the rib...

Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
I love a quick pair of mitts and while I don’t usually work in cotton, I couldn’t resist the softness of this yarn. As I often work outside, I wanted some fingerless mitts. Having a pair made of cotton sounded perfect because I could toss them in the washer and dryer with ease. The cables help to draw the fabric in a bit and give the mitts just...

While I have raised Angora rabbits in the past, it’s been a few years since I used any Angora yarn. When I felt the little Bunny Tails that my friend had in her shop, I knew they were meant for a pair of cute and quirky mitts. Pairing the yarn with a cable and seed stitch heart gave me just the right combination of challenge, luxury, and fun.

This pair of cowls was inspired by my mother. When she visited over the holidays she commented on how pretty the beaded yarn was and I could not pass up the opportunity to make her some easy cowls.
