This was the first design I did in this series, and it was my love affair with this combination of Shetland bead lace, simple ribs, and O-Wool Worsted that inspired me to design more pieces and make an e-book. I found it to be the best kind of addictive knitting!

I love a deep ribbing on my hats, but I often find that I fold it back at the nape of my neck for the perfect amount of slouch. In this design I decided to play with short rows on the ribbing and make a hat that would slouch exactly as I want it to without any adjustments.

Greenbriar is a simple cardigan featuring a shaped lace panel with leaves that travel from the neckline, down the center of the body, and then taper away at the small of the back. It’s knit seamlessly from the top down and uses contiguous shaping at the shoulders. The collar is picked up last and knit on.

I always want small, portable knits for summer knitting. Easily memorizable and totally addicting, this hat is just the thing to knit while sitting in the sun with a cold drink by your side. Plus, the distinct lines in the motif make it easy to see where you are if you stop and start again.

I fell in love with these cables while designing my Tom and Jerry Hats in YOTH’s Big Sister, and I just wasn’t ready to let them go. They are fun to work and have a unique, delicate shape that I just love. So Talisker was an excuse to work them once more - this time in Father for some quick, squishy, satisfying Rambouillet knitting.

A beautifully intricate motif is the focus of the design, and it really stands out when worked in this pale blue from YOTH’s gorgeous palette of colors. Their Big Sister yarn is soft and round and addictive. Plus it really loves a good cable.

Breathless DK is one of my favorite go-to yarns, so when Kristi mentioned that had a bulky version of it in the works, I was already sold. It’s just as soft and lightweight as the DK, but big and round and oh-so cozy, so a cowl had to be knit.

This design is named Daisy because I think that’s the perfect sheep name - and because I’m pretty sure Alice, who runs Foxhill and knows everybody in the flock - has told me about a sheep named Daisy before.

When Jill showed me this yarn at Rhinebeck last year, I had instant visions of an Icelandic yoke. A simple, bold motif shows off the tones and texture of Rockwell beautifully, and the classic style gives a nod to the history and tradition that speaks to me in all of Jill’s sheep to skein yarns.

Bywater features delicate lines that showcase the various shades of blue in this beautiful Nice and Knit DK yarn. A deep ribbing and a slipped stitch edge create a cool transition from brim to cables, and these cables are fun to work. There’s something addictive about seeing where the next cross is going to take you.

I loved this yarn the moment I saw it online! Reminiscent of the English countryside from whence it came, the Langdale Aran is both delicate and hearty at the same time. Soft as can be - with a lovely roundness and spring to the fabric, it’s just perfect in a cowl.

I loved making this one. The lines of these cables are rhythmic and bold, and the idea here was all about emphasizing that. They are classic, but not exactly. And the geometry inside them is just asymmetric enough to keep them interesting.

Pisco Punch is the latest of my patterns to get a little upgrade, and this time I switched up the suggested yarn as well, having seen Verb’s Gather and realizing how beautiful this would be in the more delicate fiber.
