Crocheting and knitting have long been known as a form of relaxation and as a way to quiet the mind. These fiber arts are much like meditation in that they are used for relaxation, as a way to minimize anxiety, to relieve stress and as a way to refocus the mind. As you concentrate on your stitches, and count and focus on your work, you are able...

One of the things we found in my beloved grandparent’s house after they both passed away after 70 years of marriage was a box of very old love letters and Valentine cards. Their romance was back in the early 1900’s, and they only saw each other occasionally in town or at a community dance. They kindled their romance by writing beautiful letters...

The Pluma Bandana Cowl is the perfect cold weather accessory and will be a beautiful addition to your Fall and Winter wardrobe. The fringe on the cowl looks like of the feathers in a bird’s wing so I named the cowl Pluma after the Spanish word for feather.

“Ziggy! Zaggy!” is a pattern that allows crocheters to have fun selecting their very own multitude of colors, from plain and neutral, to wild and crazy. The Easy Knit Print Hat is a simple knit hat pattern using worsted weight yarn. I like the “I Love this Yarn! Print” that is dyed to produce a print design when knitted. This scarf is so easy to wear it will become your “best friend forever”. You’ll always want this scarf in your wardrobe. It’s easy to crochet, wrap and wear. “Walz in the Park” is a pattern that makes a scarf or a shawl. I recommend sock or fingering weight yarn for the scarf, and worsted weight yarn for the shawl. The Easy Cat Hat is knitted in the round from the bottom up, starting with ribbing and then stockinette stitch. It is seamed at the top using an easy 3 needle bind off on the inside of the hat.
Crochet: Poncho
The Peaceful Poncho is a simple, but gratifying pattern that isn’t boring, but yet not too tricky either. This is an asymmetrical poncho that uses about 650 yards of heavy worsted or aran weight yarn. Use an ombre yarn, handspun, or leftover yarn from other projects.
Crochet: Scarf
My favorite knitted scarf is one I knitted lengthwise, on big needles in garter stitch, with the ends at diagonals with beaded fringe. It’s so easy to wear, swingy and drapey and stretchy soft.
